Among the first summer cottages built at Crescent Beach, 26 Ginn Point Road, now a fully winterized home, has been in the same family since its construction in 1919. The home overlooks the sandy beach. A pie-shaped yard, with the long side facing the water, is thoughtfully planted and offers space for expanded gardens, outdoor eating, lounging, and a game of bocce. In the house, large windows provide year-round views of beach goers and boaters, lobstering, and the birds and ocean life that share this gem of a location. On the first floor is a fully renovated kitchen (2020) with all new appliances, an open living room and dining room, two good-sized bedrooms, each with two large closets, and a full bathroom. The second floor, currently used for music practice and guest sleeping quarters, can be outfitted for another bathroom. There are wood floors throughout the house. All of the windows are new with double-panes, which open from the top and the bottom. The house is insulated and heated with new heat pumps and a Vermont Castings wood stove (2021). The roof was recently replaced, half in 2016 and half in 2022. There is a new well (2020) and a Fuji septic system (2023) meeting the highest state requirements for coastal systems. A 10-thousand-watt, plug-in generator provides emergency power. Owls Head is a welcoming community of year-round residents and long-time summer people as well as newcomers discovering this beautiful area for the first time. Located in the heart of Maine's Midcoast with its art, museums, and award-winning dining, this home provides the ideal location for quiet weeks of lounging in the sun and easy access to attractions north, south, and into the interior woods, no matter what the season. Jamie Wyeth described living here as, ''... a quality of life in Maine which is this singular and unique. I think. It's absolutely a world unto itself.'' Come own a part of it. OPEN HOUSE - Saturday, July 12th from 10:30 am to 12 noon.
